about the artist

My name is Voronina Daria . I was born in 1981 in Moscow in a family of teachers.  Between 1995- 1997, I trained at the Moscow art school. From 1997-1999, I studied art at the liceum of art and crafts # 332 (Moscow). From 1999 to 2004, I received training in Moscow at the pedagogical university at the art-graphic faculty. Since 2004 I have been a post-graduate student at the same university. 

I am writing my dissertation on art criticism. The theme of my research is the correlation of architecture icon painting in Russian medieval art.  I have also been a member of a trade union of artists since 2004. Now I work as the teacher, the author and the leader of the telecasts devoted to a history of art on an educational telechannel SGU-TV (modern humanitarian university. Moscow). The channel is broadcast on a satellite communication. Also I passionate about photos. Every year in the summer I travel as the photographer in historical expeditions on the north of Russia.

artists' statement

The landscape is my basic theme in creativity. I use various technics in painting: oil, gouache, water color. Also I research color features and effects, which help to reproduce and achieve more expressiveness. I think that the most important thing in painting - it’s the reproduction of harmony, mood, sensation of the nature. And it can be achieved with the help of color - the basic expressive means of painting. My researches are not limited only to study of the nature and natural sketches. I travel much and always I make sketches. Also I study experience of old artists. Russian medieval painting, with its thin color harmony is very interesting in this plan.
