I was born in Oryol, studied at the Oryol Teachers’ Training Institute in 1967 – 1972. In 1979-1983 I was a student of the Kharkov Artistic-Industrial Institute, where my tutors were Professors Khmelnitskiy and Kosarev. Having completed my studies, I returned to Oryol and I have worked there as an artist since.

In 1991 I became a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. My favorite verses describe the world with words, and I am trying to portray it with the language of colors. My pictures follow the traditions of Russian critical realism, represented in the group of Peredvizhniki. Valentin Serov, Isaac Levitan, Ivan Shishkin are close to me. My early works – murals and tinted-glass windows can be seen in churches, public buildings and on facades of Oryol, Mtsensk, Livny and other cities.
 

For the last ten years I have dealt mainly with painting. My pictures are represented in the Oryol Museum, in the Livny Local Lore Museum and in private collections of many countries (Russia, Belgium, Finland, England, USA, Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, Germany, Czechia, Italy).

I participated in a number of joint exhibitions: All-Union exhibition “Land and People” in Moscow in 1984, the zone exhibition “The Land of Black Soil” in Voronezh in 1985. My personal exhibitions took place in Oryol in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999, and in Heusenstamm in 1996 and 1998, in Selingenstadt in 2000 and collective exhibition in Offenbach-am-Mein in 2000.

My personal exhibition was in the Exhibition Hall of the company Mezhregiongas in 2001. I also won the competition on execution of sketches for the tinted-glass windows for the Church of St. Mary in Offenbach-am-Mein, which were purchased by the Department of Churches for the further manufacturing of tinted-glass windows.
